ALung Technologies, Inc. (www.alung.com)

ALung Technologies has developed the world's first commercial artificial lung, the Hemolung©, based on the Hattler Catheter (Paracorporeal Respiratory Assist Lung), originally developed in the Medical Devices Laboratory. The Hemolung is now being tested in the Pediatric model for future treatment in child populations.

New Health Sciences Inc. (Oxygen depletion device-blood storage grant): This collaboration involves the fabrication and testing of a novel device capable of storing human blood, yielding higher posttransfusion recovery compared to red blood cells stored under the currently used procedures.
